MY TEACHER, MY HERO

The Department of Education (DepEd) continuously recognizes the significant role of teachers in educating the Filipino children through the National Teachers’ Month (NTM) starting September 5, and its culmination on October 5 in celebration of the National Teachers’ Day (NTD) and World Teachers’ Day (WTD).

No matter how old we grow, the lessons taught by our teachers can never be forgotten. They build the foundation for our moral values and nurture children with their love and care. This Teachers day, tell your lovable teachers how much you adore them. Feel proud and honoured to celebrate Teacher’s day.

The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher. Happy Teacher's Day! Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions. Thank you for helping me become the person I am today. Happy Teacher's Day!

SPORTS U

Image result for sportsIntramural are held in school with the objectives of developing the skills of the students and to develop among the students the value of teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship. Intramural or sports competition is essential to the well-being for the students and teachers. Sports instills how to win, how to accept defeat, how to interact with other people and how to mold them to have desirable character traits that are vital in achieving success in the future.

Every school in the world can experience the Intramurals. Because, Intramurals provide different activities or sports for the students, and even to the teachers that they can enjoy. In this event, students and teachers will have their new friends and become involved with programs that have bounded time promises. This is the perfect time to highlight fellowship, sportsmanship and to enhance our talents.

Our Intramurals is held last September 12-14, 2019. There are many sports that ISNHS Intramurals have. Like volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, athletics and also the board games such as chess and scrabble. And there are some booths like horror, marriage, and message.

During our intramurals, it was hot and sunny but the players in different sports/games still keep on playing. Some of the students watched the games on different sports. But several were bored and they decided to just stay in their classroom and do something that’s fun.

This was our intramurals in Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS). It’s quite boring but its fun. I thank my friends because together we make our Intramurals unforgettable and fun.

On behalf of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), I wish to welcome everyone from all walks of life to celebrate the success of Filipino scientists at the 2019 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW).

In keeping with the general theme “Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development,” this year’s NSTW—together with the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) celebrations—seeks to draw attention to scientific knowledge and technological applications impacting on the lives of Filipinos through the kind of development that can bring about positive, meaningful, and sustainable change.

The 2019 NSTW is the DOST flagship event, and it is expected to gather the country’s leading scientists, researchers, educators, and stakeholders to interact with investors, entrepreneurs, industry representatives and professionals leading to meaningful partnerships to bridge the S&T knowledge base and the people and organizations which it ultimately serves.

The NSTW celebration has the noble intention of harnessing the power of innovative technological ideas and concepts to power the Philippines toward new, boundless opportunities to solve longstanding societal problems.

UNITY IN DIVERSITY

This month-long festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world, aims to strengthen the pride in the city's history and culture, promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as great venue for forging ties and understanding through community's involvement in the city's various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainments.

For three years now, the festival has been featuring the Chinese Community Solidarity Festival to appreciate the contributions of the Chinese Community in the development of the City. This started on September 17 and will run until September 30 at Sikatuna street in Barangay 1.

In December 1999, Vigan City was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Sites and Monuments as the city, which was  established in the 16th century, is the “best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. Its architecture reflects the coming together of cultural elements from elsewhere in the Philippines, from China and from Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape that have no parallel anywhere in East and South-East Asia.

Vigan was awarded the UNESCO’s Best Practice in World Heritage Management on the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention in Kyoto, Japan in 2012.

In 2014, Vigan was named as one of the New Seven Wonders-Cities of the World and was officially inaugurated as such on May 7, 2015.

HAPPY SCHOOLS MOVEMENT :)

Image result for happy school movementThe Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM) to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces. The movement seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study.

With the birth of Child Protection Policy in 2012, known as the Policy and Guidelines on Protecting Children in School from Abuse, Violence, Exploitation, Discrimination, Bullying and Other Forms of Abuse, various symposia, seminars and other information dissemination campaigns have been initiated by different schools to let teachers, learners and everybody know their do’s and don’ts in dealing with a learner.

This became an eye-opener to everyone on how fragile and delicate our learners are, thus they deserve to be loved and taken with utmost care. Activities and movements had been in the center stage to make our schools a child-friendly haven.
Happy School Movement or the HSM is just one movement which advocates to promote that every school should be a better and enjoyable place to learn.

Wikang Pambansa

In the Philippines, Buwan ng Wika is celebrated on the month of August. Linguistics or the scientific study of language is greatly influenced by history, culture and social factors around the nation, here in the Philippines the month of August is designated as Buwan ng Wika, which is celebrated to promote the national language. Buwan ng Wika was previously called Linggo ng Wika.

The celebration of Linggo ng Wika is not just a part of our history, it is also what keeps us united as a nation. A country’s language shows how rich and unique its culture and heritage is. More than being a means for communication, language bridges different communities and strengthens it. Using the national language is one the simplest way we can show patriotism. Filipino is what makes us Filipinos a true Pinoy.

The Commission of the Filipino Language (Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino ) in conjunction with the Department of Education (DepEd) are the organizers of this month-long celebration. With such emphasis on the themes of the month’s celebration of language, the English influence among Filipinos is gradually declining. This national celebration in the Philippines is pursuant to the Presidential Decree Number 1041 (1997). There are many accounts of the importance and significance of Buwan ng Wika, but including the remembrance of the country’s struggle for freedom and the influence of its culture, helps to intensify the pride of the people of the Philippines.i
